HEMYCA Advocates Womenomics!!!

NewsPosted by Helen Clinch Thu, April 29, 2010 21:59:57

HEMYCA is about women designing for women. Women have never really been the front runner when it comes to certain areas of business but with time and patience we seem to be taking on different areas of each and every industry and querying it regardless.

From politics to the big screen, we've now made our mark in society and there's no stopping us. We specialized in different areas but the end result is always the same: "success".

For example Kathryn Bigelow who is the first woman to win the Best Director at the Oscars and Condoleezza Rice who has been voted the most successful woman on Forbes website for a conservative amount of years.

HEMYCA's ethos and passion is to design clothes for strong, confident women who stand out from the crowd. Our pieces inspire, challenge and provoke a sense of certainty in each individual.

Helen and Myra, the founders of the fashion label applaud these women and are part of the movement known as "Womenomics."

HEMYCA collections encompasses a variety of tailored pieces in the most delicate light weigh wools, silks, satins and printed cottons.

Retail prices starting at £300.

The HEMYCA ready to wear collection is available for viewing at www.hemyca.com, please click on the stockist link for order placement. Enquire about our new (made to measure services) HEMYCA Atelier at info@hemyca.com

SS/10 Mirrors and Echos at London Fashion Week

ShowsPosted by Helen Clinch Mon, September 28, 2009 14:32:04

We no longer look in the mirror and see ourselves. We see a broken façade. Hybrid identities and a plethora of ideas. The static landscape of London inspires with its architecture; but what you see is a perception. A mirror reflecting society, an echo of oneself.

On Saturday 19th September, Hemyca showcased their SS/10 collection "Mirrors and Echos" during London Fashion Week in association with Vauxhall Fashion Scout. The show was a huge success from gaining a high attendance from the world's media to receiving great reviews.

"Mirrors and Echos" is a collection inspired by Britain and its heritage. The organic lines of London's landscape have been distorted using digital technology, into inspiring and intricate detailed prints. Canvas, chiffon, suiting and lashings of satin retain the crisp invigorating aura of summer in the city. The colour palette of the collection featured warm oranges and zesty greens which played out the contradiction between chic city and soft summer styles.

This SS/10 show was different to the norm; with models sauntering around the audience and posing in front of the mirrors, effectively placed around the room. This was more than just a catwalk show as it held an ambiance of intimacy and originality.

From the team here at Hemyca, we would just like thank everyone who came and supported us at the show.

Vauxhall Skate

NewsPosted by Helen Clinch Mon, August 24, 2009 12:16:26

A couple of weeks ago the HEMYCA girls partied at the 'Vauxhall Skate' event, a celebrity-fuelled roller disco, with the likes of Sophie Ellis Bextor and the former Libertines front man Carl Barat.

The event was to mark the collaberation between Vauxhall and Kate Moross, an upcoming young illustrator and designer, who customised a Vauxhall Corsa in her own signature style.

The HEMYCA girls enjoyed a fun filled evening skating to the DJ sets from Sophie Ellis Bextor where im sure there were a lot of giggles and quite few tumbles on the dance floor!

A Successful Night

NewsPosted by Helen Clinch Mon, August 17, 2009 13:26:36

Monday 3rd August saw the much anticipated launch party for the pop up
showroom event "London a la Mode" take place at the ultra modern The
Fellow, in Kings Cross.

With over 100 guests in attendance, the intimate upstairs cocktail bar
and roof terrace were full to the rafters with industry professionals,
stylists, journalists and buyers, all enjoying a brief spell of summer
sunshine and of course, celebrating the first day of the "London a la
mode" showroom.

The night, which offered attendees a choice of special edition London
Fashion Week cocktails, courtesy of the bar staff at The Fellow, was
also an opportunity to talk to designers, with an eclectic soundtrack
supplied by talented Dj's U&E (supporting MIA in August) and PSI. Five
British brands are currently displaying their wares at the showroom;
with Helen and Myra, the design team behind the beautiful brand HEMYCA,
giving party guests a sneak preview of selected creations fresh from the
SS/10 collection, "Mirrors and Echoes".

Hemyca received great feedback from this successful event with an article in WWB's August edition and crediting from Anne Look's blog.

The launch event was a huge success with a variety of industry professionals turning our to support HEMYCA and other British brands launching their new collections. To everyone in attendance at The Fellow, a big thank you for your support and for making it such an exciting night.
